Our Sustainable Computing Certifications & Partnerships
Redemtech believes in getting the most out of every computer. We do that by supporting longer lifecycles, identifying opportunities for idle computers to be reused, enabling a "second life" whenever possible and recycling end-of-life computers to salvage any usable components and truly recycle all other materials. The result is an approach to IT asset management that supports corporate environmental, financial and social objectives.
Our focus on lifecycle extension and value optimization, and our commitment to responsible recycling, is supported by the following certifications and partnerships:
IDC Green Recycling and Asset Disposition for Enterprise Certification
Redemtech received IDC's first G.R.A.D.E. certification based upon our significant investments in establishing sound IT asset recovery and disposal processes and exceeding the 75 percent score required across 34 IT Asset Disposal-related functions and tasks related to remote applications, onsite services, logistics, in-plant processing and post treatment.
BAN e-Stewards Certification and Electronics Recycler’s Pledge of True Stewardship
Redemtech is a founding member of the Basel Action Network (BAN) e-Stewards Initiative, the first independently audited and accredited electronic waste recycler certification program, and a charter signatory of The Electronics Recycler’s Pledge of True Stewardship, developed by the Electronics TakeBack Coalition and BAN. In doing so, we have voluntarily agreed to uphold the world’s most rigorous environmental and social criteria for the handling of e-waste.
ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certification
Redemtech proactively applied for and achieved International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001 certification for our Environmental Management System (EMS). This certification provides independent third-party validation that we have the processes in place to support our policies for the zero export, landfill, incineration or prison labor handling of e-waste and gives our clients added confidence in our ability to secure and manage their assetsbeyond the standards required by law.
Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher and Community Authorized Refurbisher
Redemtech's status as the first commercial Community Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher (CMAR) in North America enables us to equip donated PCs with select Windows® operating systems and Microsoft Office suite software on computers being donated to charity for a $5 per license administrative fee.
Redemtech is also a charter member of the Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher (MAR) program, which is tailored to the needs of large refurbishers like Redemtech and allows us to deliver preinstalled genuine Windows XP software licensesat a discounted rateon refurbished PCs sold in the commercial market. Through our relationship with Microsoft and these programs we are able to minimize the environmental and financial impact of technology by extending lifecycles, increasing utilization and eliminating waste.
Refurbished Computer Initiative
Redemetch's partnership with TechSoup.org and joint sponsorship of the Refurbished Computer Initiative (RCI) helps corporations make surplus computer equipment available for charity reuse, while our free asset recovery and recycling of donated equipment ensures its environmentally safe disposal at end of life.
