Certified e-waste excellence
IDC’s certification of Redemtech was based on a number of environmental sustainability efforts we have adopted, including:
- Our zero-landfill, zero-export, zero-incineration, zero-prison labor Environmental Policy
- ISO 14001 certification for our Environmental Management System
- Success in meeting stringent e-Stewards Standard
- Rigorous vetting and surprise inspections of partners and downstream processors
- 100% verified, auditable data destruction
Focused on the U.S. market, IDC G.R.A.D.E. certification includes both OEMs and core IT asset disposition vendors, like Redemtech.
Making the IDC G.R.A.D.E.
While IT asset recovery, disposition and disposal of corporate assets have grown from an obscure niche sector to a fully recognized industry, it remains highly fragmented with thousands of companies involved in various aspects of the collection, treatment and marketing of retired IT assets.
To help organizations seeking ITAD and e-waste recycling services navigate this complex landscape, analyst firm International Data Corporation (IDC) created its Green Recycling and Asset Disposal for the Enterprise (G.R.A.D.E.) certification. According to IDC, understanding which ITAD vendor to select can make a major difference in achieving environmental sustainability and business continuity, while providing a higher level of protection for a company's intellectual, financial and other assets.
IDC G.R.A.D.E. certification methodology focuses on seven key ITAD issues:
- Corporate social responsibility
- IT asset management
- Data security
- Environmental stewardship
- Cost avoidance and ROI
- Planning
- Operations management
In 2008, Redemtech received IDC's first G.R.A.D.E. certification based upon our significant investments in establishing sound ITAD processes across 34 functions and tasks related to remote applications, onsite services, logistics, in-plant processing and post treatment. Today, Redemtech is one of only 11 companies that have met the standards.
